Art Car Project “Taycan Soul Canvas”, 2022
The “Taycan Soul Canvas” is an art car created in 2022 as a collaboration between Porsche Japan and artist SHUN SUDO, based on the fully electric sports car, the Porsche Taycan Turbo, as part of the global brand program “Dreamers. On.” SHUN SUDO became the first Japanese artist to work on a Porsche art car. The design was inspired by his test drive of the Taycan, adopting a style that merges ink-wash painting aesthetics with American graffiti. By frequently utilizing his signature “Button Flower” motif, the work expresses the Taycan’s sense of speed, dynamism, and the energy of people pursuing their dreams. This art car was exhibited sequentially in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and other cities starting in March 2022.
This car is packed with the future Porsche aims to achieve,
including respect for tradition, and consideration for nature,
the environment, the Earth, and humanity.
That is what resonated with me.
